Lancang Island Develops Tourism Village Grape Destination

Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) is currently developing a Grape Village on Lancang Island, Pari Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands. It is expected to become one of the potential attractions for tourists.

This grape planting has been done independently by the residents and is quite satisfying

Seribu islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Parsan said the Grape Villag was realized in cooperation with Jakarta KPKP Agency and Jakarta Grape Community. So far, as many as 70 pots of grape trees have been planted with various varieties introduced from abroad, including Jupiter, Transfiguration, Nizena, Gos-V, and Victor.

According to him, if this potential could continue to be developed and cultivated together, the results could attract tourists. It could also increase the economic growth of the surrounding community.

"Hopefully, this potential can increase the education and income of the local community, and can meet food availability," he hoped.

He added that the presence of a Wine Village on Lancang Island on a 256-square-meter rack proved that grapes were also suitable for planting in Seriibu Islands. To support it, there would be a grape community specifically for Seribu Islands.

"We've also intensified the grape planting program on other populated islands, as we know that grapes have a high value," he stated.
